TINO NUNEZ
Tino Nunez has served as the head coach of the Millikan High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team since 2010, and also coaches Cerritos College, Premier FC, and FRAM SK. Previously he coached at White Bear SC and Prior Lake High School (Minnesota), and Riverhound Soccer Academy (Pennsylvania). His playing days began with a youth career at NHB Futbol Club (Huntington Beach CA) from 1995 to 2002. He was a four-year letterman at Millikan High School, winning a CIF Division I Championship in 2001 as well as 1st Team All-Moore League, Offensive MVP, All-CIF Southern Section, and team leader in goals and assists. He played one season at Compton Community College, earning team MVP in 2003. He transferred to UC Santa Barbara, earning a B.A. in Spanish Literature while making two NCAA Division I Final Four appearances. His team lost the 2004 final on penalty kicks, and won the championship in 2006. After college, Tino earned a place with Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer, winning the MLS Cup in 2009. He won a regular season championship with the Rochester Rhinos (USSF) and a NASL Championship with the Minnesota Stars. He won a Major Indoor Soccer League Championship with the Baltimore Blast, and has also played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL) and the United States National Beach Soccer Team, competing in at the 2012 Beach Soccer Copa America in Brazil. He currently plays for the Ontario Fury.
GABRIEL MONTOYA
Gabriel currently holds a USSF National Coaching License and has 8 years of coaching experience. Gabe grew up in Long Beach, CA and played club soccer for NHB Futbol Club from 1993-2002 where he was a 7 time League Cup Winner, State Cup Winner, and 4 time National Cup Finalist. At Millikan High School, he won four Moore League Titles and a CIF Championship. He was a 1st Team all-league honors. He received a full scholarship to Cal State Northridge, where he earned All Big West team in 2003 and 2004. He coached at Harvard Westlake Middle School from 2005 to 2009 and currently serves as GK/Assistant Coach at Millikan High School.
RANDY RETAMA
Randy played youth soccer throughout his hometown of Long Beach, CA. At Millikan High School, he helped the Frosh/Soph boys program to 100 consecutive wins without a loss. He served as Varsity co-captain, winning multiple Moore League titles and CIF playoff appearances while earning first-team Moore League honors. As a head coach at the JV and Frosh/Soph levels of the Millikan girls soccer program, he has won multiple league titles and tournament championships.
KELLY POTTER
Kelly Potter holds a USSF E license and plays semi-pro for LA Strikers FC. She is a girls assistant coach at Millikan High School and coaches at FRAM Soccer Club and FC Premier. Kelly graduated with honors from CSU Dominguez Hills with a B.S. in Business Administration and Sports Management. She played two years at The College of Saint Rose on a full scholarship. Her contributions led to a NCAA Div II National semifinal appearance, an NCAA Div II East Regional title, an NE-10 Conference title and two regular season titles. From 2008-2012 she played ECNL and Premier for Irvine strikers, winning the California League Cup. At Millikan, she was earned first-team All-CIF and first-team Moore League honors, as well as a Press-Telegram Dream Team pick.
RAUL RUIZ
Raul holds a USSF A license and is a Coerver certified instructor. He serves as the head coach of the Huntington Beach High School girls soccer program, an assistant coach at Cerritos College, and head coach of multiple teams with FRAM SK. He has coached previously at Golden West College, Long Beach City College, ECC Compton Center (Coach of the Year 2001), Beach Futbol Club (Director of Coaching), and NHB Soccer Club (Director of Coaching). After earning league MVP honors at Long Beach Millikan HS and playing at Cal State Bakersfield, Raul played professionally for Victoria FC, Autlan, Bachilleres FC and Atlas FC.
ALEX MUNOZ
Alex serves on the coaching staff at Cerritos College and is the assistant coach to the girls varsity team at Huntington Beach High School. He coaches multiple teams with FRAM SK. He coached previously at Golden West College and Long Beach Wilson HS. At Centennial HS in Corona he led the squad to four straight league titles and was league MVP before attending Cerritos College and playing a major role in their 2008 state championship. He was an All-American at Cal State Dominguez Hills and played semipro with the Santa Ana Winds.
JESSE OAKES
Jesse holds a USSF E license, and coaches at Beach FC and Millikan High School. Over two seasons, his Millikan frosh/soph teams have earned a 36-2-9 record, compiling two undefeated Moore League titles, two tournaments, and three finals appearances. He was born and raised in Pasadena, CA, and played competitive soccer from ages 5-17. A marathoner and half-marathoner, Jesse specializes in developing fitness, and freelances with club teams. He has coached previously at Foothills Middle School in Arcadia, CA and Maranatha High School in Pasadena, CA.
